STREAMING MODE

It was 11:15 PM on Saturday, October 29, 2022, and I was SUPER EXCITED to stream DREAMCATCHER’s, Apocalypse: 2022 World Tour in Seoul! Before logging onto the MyMusicTaste website to watch the livestream, I needed to physically, mentally, and emotionally prepare myself to stay up and watch their online concert. I wish I could have my setup for the concert like Dreamcatcher’s Pop-Up Shop (image above), but I still had the right ambiance to stay up all night and cheer these girls on! Does anyone else feel this way before live streaming a concert too?
To cozy up, I decided to make some hot chocolate and a bowl of ramyeon. It’s definitely a must for me to make a nice hot beverage, and warm up a nice little meal to help me stay energized throughout the evening and early morning to watch a concert. As I logged into MyMusicTaste’s website, I started to prep my laptop to get the best quality streaming I could get - all notifications were off, volume was in the right place, and getting onto the streaming platform before it went live was crucial to have the best streaming experience. Luckily, I got 1080hp quality throughout the whole concert!
LIVESTREAM, CONDOLENCES, & THE SHOW GOES ON
As the countdown for the livestream started to wind down to 00:00, the online concert started off with a sincere message to the victims and their families of the tragedy that happened in Itaewon the night before. This included giving their condolences and renaming the concert from Apocalypse: Broken Halloween to Apocalypse: 2022 World Tour in Seoul.
Once the message transitioned off-screen, a VCR of the DREAMCATCHER members in their Halloween costumes started to play. This was definitely one of the most immersive VCR’s I’ve ever seen for a concert, and I wanted to watch more footage of them rocking their costumes! Thankfully, all of their VCR’s fulfilled this feeling.
The girls started their performance setlist with “Odd Eye,” and flawlessly transitioned to performing “Scream.” The members really started off the online concert with strong and confident songs! Once the “Scream” performance ended, the girls started speaking to InSomnia for their first ment. After a few minutes of the members introducing themselves, and casually speaking with their fans in the KBS Arena Hall, SuA stated,
“Welcome global InSomnia. Let’s all greet each other! Let’s say hi to them. Are you ready for fun? Great. Let’s run!”
The girls recognized all of InSomnia that were tuned into the livestream, and started to transition to their next set of performances.

SIYEON’S SWEAT, SOLO STAGES, & ENERGY
I wish I could talk about every detail of my experience watching DREAMCATCHER’s online concert, but this article would be too long! So, I decided to highlight some of the most memorable moments from that night! One includes the members dropping honorifics for the night to casually speak with InSomnia. I thought this concert had one of the most casual ments I’ve ever seen at a concert and it was AWESOME!
Another highlight was the members making fun of Siyeon for sweating a lot, which was really funny! Obviously the girls are not only working hard singing and dancing, but their outfits and the lighting on stage might make it more challenging to perform, and for the girls to make lighthearted comments to each other like this just showcased how close the members are with each other. As my co-worker Fatima stated, it felt like watching life long friends pursuing their passions and demonstrating their talents.
Since the solo stages were different from the night before, of course I have to highlight the solo stages for the online concert! Each solo stage had its own little intro video featuring each member, and their themed performance. First up was Handong’s performance for “Winter,” which was pure magic! From the simple and elegant staging to her all white dress, Handong’s performance is literally getting all of us ready for the holiday season. From there, we get the sweet song, “Cherry,” from the leader herself, JiU! With her long flowing red dress and her soft vocals, honestly I was wishing for the day that this song would be added to a romantic K-Drama. Next was the bubbly performance of “Playground,” by Gahyeon! This cheery and colorful performance showcased amazing choreography and cute outfits that brought back some early 2000’s vibes. The last solo stage was from Dami, who performed “Beauty Full!” Many InSomnia kept mentioning Dami Lavigne in the comments section of the live because of how much this song, the staging, and outfits screamed Avril Lavigne. The ending of the solo stages ended strong with Dami’s powerful rap and vocals.
Well, I can’t forget to highlight DREAMCATCHER as a whole group! Their energy was consistent throughout the whole concert, and you can tell they gave it their all. Not only were their vocals and choreography on point, but their attitude and facial expressions really matched with their performances really well. Their stage presence was dark, electric, colorful, vibrant, and so much more. Again, I can’t make this article too long, but overall, DREAMCATCHER put on one of the best online concert’s I have ever seen.
CONCLUSION
Each performance went so well with the live band playing behind the members, and the dancers did a great job as well! Also, we should give a shoutout to everyone behind-the-scenes too! I am really glad that DREAMCATCHER, two times throughout the concert, gave credit to everyone that helped put this concert together. There was a lot of love on that stage between the members, the members with the live band, members with the dancers, members with their staff, and of course, members with InSomnia. Hopefully, for the InSomnia that were not able to watch DREAMCATCHER’s Apocalypse: 2022 World Tour in Seoul, they will get to see the groups future concerts online or in-person.
