Global fandom business startup, bemyfriends, recently shared the company’s experience at a networking party event held during SXSW 2023! bemyfriends has continued to expand its business within the United States, which started with the company entering a strategic partnership with the United Talent Agency, (UTA) and most recently raising investment from the United States venture capital firm, Cleveland Avenue, LLC. bemyfriends, being one of the main hosts of the SXSW networking party event, explained the importance of fandom business, and its value and future within the U.S. market.

WHAT IS SXSW?

SXSW is the world's largest festival in the content space, usually held within the month of March, in Austin, Texas. It was named after the Alfred Hitchcock film "North By Northwest" (1959). Founded in 1987, SXSW has been best known for its conferences and festivals that celebrate the convergence of technology, film, music, education, and culture. Being an essential destination for global professionals, the annual event started out as a music festival, but has since expanded to include comedy showcases, film screenings, exhibitions, high tech, and plenty of networking opportunities.

At SXSW 2023, bemyfriends organized its second networking party with UTA as one of the co-hosts. By forming a US-based network, bemyfriends is bringing its knowledge of the fandom business to the states, and laying the groundwork to become a full-fledged global business. bemyfriends' global activities are expected to help brands all over the world take their fandom business to the next level.

Since bemyfriends entered into a strategic partnership with United Talent Agency (UTA) in January 2023, the global fandom business company has accelerated its expansion into the global market. While attending several international events, such as the Sundance Film Festival, bemyfriends representatives have actively networked with global brand leaders.

On March 11, 2023, bemyfriends was one of the main hosts of a networking party at SXSW 2023, alongside the global company, Tripadvisor, and the creator-focused media company Candle Media. The three-hour event at the Uptown Sports Club in Austin, Texas, brought together more than 150 brand leaders, creators, talents, athletes, chefs, and politicians to explore global business opportunities.

José Andrés, founder of World Central Kitchen, and Aaron Franklin of Franklin BBQ, the two of the top chefs in South Texas, were on hand to serve food and cocktails. The presence of the celebrity chefs were a highlight of the event, especially since bemyfriends hosted their very first event, after Aaron Franklin renovated the Uptown Sports Club.

Event hosts Hanna Park, (CMO) and Samuel Hwiewon Son, (VP of Business Development & Partnerships) introduced bemyfriends in detail at the networking party. The two representatives shared their insights with global brand leaders, creators, and talents, with a key message — it is time to stop fighting for traffic and start nurturing fans. Explaining the link with fandom as a business strategy, rather than it be mere marketing, they emphasized the importance and potential of the fandom business for all brands, whether its for corporate or personal.

The CMO and VP also talked about the value of one owning its own fandom platform, content, and data, while sharing the outlook for the global fandom business based on the success of K-Pop. While highlighting the fandom business is a winning strategy in several industries and not just entertainment, they introduced the full range of services and solutions that bemyfriends offers.

The event was attended by celebrities and representatives from a wide range of brands and industries, including Roku, The Coca-Cola Company, Paramount+, LinkedIn, Hyatt, MediaLink, Warner Music Group, creators Colin and Samir, SXSW Head of Media Partnerships Brett Cannon, chef and TV personality Andrew Zimmern, comedian Jorma Taccone, producer Ali Bell, professional golfer Sergio Garcia, politician Michael Tubbs, and more.

After entering into a strategic partnership with UTA in January, and raising an investment from Cleveland Avenue in March, bemyfriends is actively forming connections with their clients and local network of its partners. In doing so, the company plans to expand the global fandom business into various fields, such as entertainment, sports, and lifestyle, while securing customers in the United States to solidify its position as the leading global fandom business company.

South by Southwest is driven by the motto,

"Dedicated to helping creative people achieve their goals."

In a similar fashion, bemyfriends will continue its global journey to help brands build their fandom businesses, and achieve their goals in 2023.
