PRESS RELEASE
ARMY, can you believe it’s been almost 10 years since BTS’ debut?! Yes, we are just nearly a month away from BTS celebrating their 10-year debut anniversary! From Jin and j-hope fulfilling their duties in the South Korean military, to the members releasing solo music, signing with luxury brands as Brand Ambassadors, and more, the recent events of the BTS members have showcased more of their talents, their impact on popular culture, and their own individual voices, styles, and personalities outside of their role as BTS members.
The BTS members are known for showing their lives as everyday people and artists through their YouTube videos, their V-Live/Weverse content, artist-to-fan engagement via social media, and through their very own documentaries. The group as a whole released a total of five worldwide titles with Trafalgar Releasing, and it was recently announced that two of the BTS members will be releasing their very own solo documentaries. Let’s take a deep dive into what j-hope and SUGA’s upcoming solo documentaries will cover!

민윤기 (Min Yoongi), also known as SUGA of BTS, and who goes by his solo-stage name of Agust D, is a South Korean rapper, songwriter, and music producer. SUGA is globally known for his record producing ability, along his own solid musical philosophy, which constantly pushes the boundaries through his works on BTS albums, solo projects, and collaborations with Western and K-Pop artists. Since BTS’ 2014 EP, Skool Luv Affair, BTS’ albums have included tracks produced by SUGA. Through his mixtapes under Agust D, SUGA suggested his vision as a solo artist as well. The range of SUGA’s music styles seems to be limitless, as he consistently makes chart-topping hits of different genres for himself, BTS, and other artists.
SUGA has participated as a featured artist with K-Pop and other international musicians such as IU, Juice WRLD, Max, and So-ra Lee. SUGA has also produced music for globally influential artists including Halsey, PSY, Epik High, Suran, ØMI and more. Furthermore, SUGA participated in producing the remix version of Coldplay and BTS' global hit song,’ “My Universe,” an original soundtrack for HYBE’s original story 7FATES: CHAKHO, called “Stay Live (Prod. SUGA of BTS),” a mobile game OST for BTS Island: In The Seom called “Our Island (Prod. SUGA of BTS) [Original Soundtrack],” and Samsung Electronics Galaxy’s official ringtone “Over The Horizon.”
Those who consider themselves a part of BTS ARMY know very well that SUGA started from the bottom and climbed his way to the top career-wise. SUGA stated when he moved to Seoul he started making songs that he sold for a small price, while rapping in the underground Hip-hop scene in South Korea. SUGA is also known for being wise, along with his ability to be philosophical with his words through music. BTS ARMY continues to be inspired by not only SUGA’s life experiences, but are inspired by his mindset on life.

j-hope (Jeong, Hoseok) is a South Korean rapper, dancer, songwriter, music producer, and a member of BTS. Known as the ‘Lead Dancer’ of the group, j-hope boasts his performance skills that are nearly perfect. His originality in music as an artist also comes from the fact that he learned music through dance. j-hope has been participating in making music such as “Intro : Boy Meets Evil” and “MAMA” on BTS’ WINGS album, and his solo works.
j-hope’s first mixtape Hope World (2018) expressed his honest emotions and personal narratives, suggesting his vision as an artist. His globally-famed “Chicken Noodle Soup (feat. Becky G)” released in 2019, and showcased his own musical personality with exhilarating energy and performances. j-hope also validated his capability as a creative director by leading all aspects—from music to concept and to even visual elements—of his solo album, Jack In The Box (2022), which addresses the passion and agony he goes through as an artist. In 2022, j-hope made history as the first South Korean act to headline a main stage at Lollapalooza.
Those who consider themselves a part of BTS ARMY know very well that j-hope’s work ethic, attention to detail, and his intentions in everything that he does are just pieces of what makes j-hope unique and successful. All of this can be shown from the recent reveal of j-hope’s BT21 character, Mang, who revealed his true self/identity, his recent collaboration with his music idol, J. Cole, and becoming the first BTS member to release a debut solo album. BTS ARMY continues to be inspired by j-hope’s positivity and the amount of love he radiates through his body of work.
