EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

It’s time for the headlines to be all about the Thai-line! Yes, SORN and BamBam have recently reunited in-person for a reopening event outside of South Korea. Both K-Pop artists have been traveling overseas the past couple of years for their own individual scheduled activities, and it’s awesome finally seeing this duo have the same scheduled activity together, while being able to reconnect with one another. It’s time to rejoice in seeing these two close friends hanging out together and thriving as solo artists!

SORN was born on November 18, 1996, and grew up in Thailand. SORN gained traction in her music career when she won the first season of K-Pop Star Hunt in 2011, which guaranteed her the opportunity to sign an exclusive contract with CUBE Entertainment, where she became a K-Pop trainee for 3 years.

On March 19, 2015, she debuted in the 7-member girl group, CLC, which was managed under CUBE Entertainment. After six years of being a member of CLC, SORN decided to terminate her contract with CUBE Entertainment and CLC back in November 2021. It wasn’t too long after that, when it was unfortunately announced, by CUBE Entertainment, on May 20, 2022, that CLC would officially disband, and that the operation of CLC U CUBE would be terminated on June 06, 2022.

In March 2021, SORN made her solo debut with her first digital single, “Run.” But it wasn’t until December 2021, nearly a month after her departure from CLC and CUBE Entertainment, when SORN officially launched her solo music career by signing with WILD Group. SORN made a strong debut with her first release under WILD Group in February 2022, with her digital single “Sharp Objects.” She later released three other digital singles including “SCORPIO,” “Save Me,” and “Nirvana Girl,” which all really demonstrated SORN’s capabilities and talents as a creative, as a performer, and as a solo artist.

SORN was able to continue her PRODUSORN vlogging on YouTube, which really showcases who SORN is as a person, an artist, and even as a friend. Many of SORN’s fans find PRODUSORN videos comforting, relatable, and overall therapeutic. SORN’s fanbase has continued to evolve on a global scale, due to her charismatic TikTok videos, her funny relationship with her boss, (WILD Group CEO, Leonard Lim) and the transparent communication she has with her fans. There is no sign of stopping SORN from continuing her rise in the global music industry.

BamBam was born on May 02, 1997, and grew up in Thailand. BamBam officially launched his music career by becoming a K-Pop trainee under JYP Entertainment in 2010, where he also took part in the Mnet's survival program WIN: Who is Next? prior to debuting. BamBam had experience as a performer before and after arriving in South Korea by winning dance competitions, being part of the same dance crew (We Zaa Cool) as BLACKPINK’s Lisa, as well as acting in films, commercials, and television shows.

BamBam debuted as a member of GOT7 on January 16, 2014, under JYP Entertainment. GOT7 is still an active group, but each member decided to part ways from JYP Entertainment once their contracts expired in January 2021. All of the members launched their solo music careers, some members have implanted themselves within the acting and modeling world, some of them running their own businesses, and more.

BamBam officially signed with ABYSS Company on March 05, 2021, where he released 2 EP’s and 4 digital singles to date. Most recently, BamBam had the opportunity to work on a variety of endorsements including being a Global Ambassador for the Golden State Warriors, and being the face of the new 5G campaign by AIS, alongside BLACKPINK’s Lisa. He also had the chance to do more philanthropic work with organizations like UNICEF, as well as having scheduled activities within the modeling and fashion world. BamBam also recently started his casting activities in the very popular Korean reality series, “Master in The House.”

BamBam’s fans, as well as AGHASE, can attest to how transparent BamBam is with his fans via social media and WEVERSE, how genuine he is when it comes to his relationships and friendships, and how funny and charming he is personality wise. BamBam continues to demonstrate the pride he has for his home country, the willingness to be open about doing business in other countries, and showcasing his global stardom from the east to the west.

On Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 7:00 PM, Thai K-Pop idols SORN and BamBam attended the reopening of Gentle Monster at ION Orchard in Singapore. The highly anticipated event was sought out by thousands of excited fans flocking to ION Orchard, hoping to catch a glimpse of the two long-time friends spending time together.

SORN and BamBam are known to have been close friends since their days as K-Pop trainees. Many fans know that the Thai K-Pop idols are a close knit group (also known as the Thai-line) of friends, including BLACKPINK’s Lisa, NCT/WayV’s Ten, (G)I-DLE’s Minnie, and 2PM’s Nichkhun. Plenty of photos and videos of the two interacting throughout the event at Gentle Monster can be seen across social media.

This is their first working a schedule together outside of Korea, so hopefully there will be more opportunities for this duo to meet in the future! Until then, we wish the both of them the best of luck on their upcoming solo activities! Please continue to support both SORN and BamBam when it comes to their music, scheduled activities, and just cheering them on as people living their dream as artists.
